HPG claims responsibility for actions in Bitlis and Amed

People's Defence Forces Press Centre HPG-BIM has issued a statement claiming responsibility for two recent actions that targeted a police check point in Bitlis on Friday and two patrolling police vehicles in Kayapınar district of Amed on Thursday.

HPG said 4 police officers, including 3 special team members, were killed and four others were wounded in the actions that were carried out by guerrilla forces as a “warning to the police terror against the people and policies of genocide”.

HPG-BIM stated that their forces would give the necessary answer to the Turkish state unless it abandons the policies it is currently following.

Giving information about the guerrilla actions, HPG-BIM said that 3 special team members were killed and two others were wounded in one of the actions which was carried out with heavy weapons at close range and targeted a police check point on the Silk Road at the entrance of Bitlis province on 26 September evening.

One police officer was killed and two others were wounded in the other guerrilla action which targeted two patrolling police vehicles late 25 September evening in Kayapınar district of Amed.
