People's Defense Forces Press Office HPG-BIM said in a written statement that the Turkish army has launched an operation in the main Kurdish city Amed's Pasur, Hazro and Lice districts at 06:00 Wednesday morning.

HPG-BIM remarked that the military operation in the region was carried out with the support of armored vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles and Sikorsky helicopters.

HPG-BIM said the operation later expanded to the areas of Geliyê Gudernê, Mala Çalê, Deşise and Reşanê.
