Kurdish activists Ömer Bağdur, Cemal Kobanê, Şiyar Xelil and Mele Mustafa Tuzak went on an indefinite hunger strike in various cities of Germany to support the fast of DTK Co-chair and HDP MP Leyla Güven against the isolation regime imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan. The four activists moved their protest to Berlin in March.
After three months of hunger strike, Kurdish activist Cemal Kobanê has been hospitalized on Monday. Following an acute deterioration in his state of health, an emergency doctor had to be called today, who had the hunger strike activist sent to the Jewish hospital (Jüdisches Krankenhaus) in the Wedding district.
Kobanê and three other Kurdish activists carry out the hunger strike action in the premises of NAV-DEM Berlin against the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan. He had started his action on 29 January together with Ömer Bağdur in Kassel.
Also on hunger strike in Berlin are Mele Mustafa Tuzak from Duisburg and Şiyar Xelil from Nuremberg.
