The German leg of the hunger strike resistance demanding the end of isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, continues in Berlin.
Kurdish activists Cemal Kobanê, Ömer Bağdur, Mele Mustafa Tuzak and Şiyar Xelil are continuing their hunger strike at the Democratic Kurdish Community Center (NAV-DEM) in Berlin.
Mele Mustafa Tuzak has reached day 106 of his fast, Şiyar Xelil day 93 and Cemal Kobanê and Ömer Bağdur day 90.
Activists continue to welcome visitors coming from all over Germany and Europe. Among the latest visitors was HDP Muş former deputy, Ahmet Yıldırım, who called for stronger support to the resistance against isolation.
Yıldırım talked for a while with the hunger strikers and said: "My goal with this visit is to offer a little contribution to increase support for these friends who are using their bodies to fight isolation.”
Isolation is a crime against humanity
Yıldırım said that there was no more humane and important action other than the hunger strike to demand the end of isolation.
“This action - he said - has a legitimacy that is far more than just political legitimacy. Because isolation is accepted as a torture method and as a crime against humanity in all international and law treaties. This action is a kind of action which tries to save human dignity.”
Solidarity with these activists on the hunger strike, said Yıldırım, “means solidarity with human values.”
