Kurds continue the hunger strike in the central Odenplan Square. They pass out flyers and give speeches throughout the day to inform the public.

The hunger strikers condemn the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan and call on Scandinavian countries to take initiative for the EU and the CPT to break the silence and help end the isolation.

The hunger strikers frequently chant “Leyla Guven’s demand is our demand”, “Solidarity with Leyla Guven”, “Be Serok jiyan nabe” and “Biji Serok Apo”.

New participants spoke to the ANF and condemned the outside world’s silence in the face of the hunger strikes. They said they are determined to fight until the isolation is ended.

Feti Baran from Denmark said the Turkish state has held Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan in isolation for 20 years to break the will of the Kurdish people.

Baran said the isolation is imposed upon the whole of Kurdish people in the person of Ocalan and stressed that they continue with determination the protest launched by Leyla Guven.

Sirin Tokpinar from Norway condemned European countries and the outside world for their silence in the face of the protests led by Leyla Guven and Nasir Yagiz that thousands of prisoners joined.

Tokpinar said European countries want human rights only for themselves and they remain silent for violations elsewhere in the world. Tokpinar added: “Them not speaking out against the inhumane isolation shows lack of conscience.”

Tokpinar also said Ocalan0s ideology and philosophy is important for oppressed peoples and humanity in general.
