Four deputies from four different political parties brought to the Danish Parliament the issue of the political prisoners on hunger strike demanding the end of the isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The deputies moved a joint motion and asked Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen what he thought about the actions carried out by political prisoners in Turkey.

The deputies demand the Danish Government and the European Union to explain what initiatives they have taken.

The motion was moved by Af Soren Sondergaard of the Red-Green Unity Party, Lars Aslan Rasmussen of the Social Democratic Party, Rasmus Nordqvist of the Alternative Party and Holger K. Nielsen of the Socialist People's Party.

Red Green Union Party MP, Af Soren Sondergaard, said in a statement published on his social media account, that they will continue to keep the hunger strike on the Parliament agenda as long as Leyla Güven continues her hunger strike.

Sondergaard, on 10 December last year, tabled a written motion about the imprisonment of HDP Hakkari MP Güven and her hunger strike. He asked Foreign Affairs Minister Samuelsen, what he was going to do to ensure Güven had a fair trial.
