Injuries amid police crackdown on October 10 commemoration in Ankara

Police attacked the people that gathered in Ankara in order to commemorate those who died in the October 10 massacre in Ankara Train Station, and protestors got injured during the police attack with rubber bullets and tear gas.

Police attacked the people that gathered in Ankara in order to commemorate those who died in the October 10 massacre. Police officers simultaneously attacked the groups that gathered in Numune Hospital, Atatürk Boulevard, Youth Park and Hipodrom regions, and detained many protestors. Several protestors were injured during the police attack with rubber bullets, tear gas canisters and pressurized water. Clashes between the protestors and police began as protestors retreated to side streets.

HDP Co-Presidents Figen Yüksekdağ and Selahattin Demirtaş and other parliamentarians were also affected by the police crackdown. The HDP group and several protestors began to gather in front of the police barrier.

Protestors under police attack do not leave but regroup and try to reenter the area. Clashes continue in almost every part of the train station area.
