The International Cooperation and Immigration Department of Comisiones Obreras in Catalunya condemns the murder of three Kurdish, women political activists and executives, which took place on 9 January 2013 in Paris. In their statement the trade union said that "Sakine Cansiz was a recognized leader of the PKK committed to find a way to peace".

And added "It is intolerable that people who fight for peace and human rights and for the rights of women can not carry out their activities safely in any country in Europe".

The statement ends demanding "an investigation into these crimes and to ensure security for Kurdish citizens and activists across the continent.

We sympathize with the families and friends of the victims as well as with Kurdish people as a whole in these difficult times and support their struggle in the path of peace and self-determination".
