The October 9 international plot against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan was protested and condemned in several cities in France.
Demonstrations led by Kurdish youths in Paris, Reims and Marseille were joined by hundreds who called for further struggle for the freedom of the Kurdish leader and people, and condemned the Turkish state for its aggravated isolation of Öcalan and increasingly ongoing attacks on Kurdish people, which focuses on Kurdish and pro-Kurdish media outlets recently.
PARIS
The demonstration in capital city Paris was organised by Ciwanên Azad members who staged a torch march from Gar de l'est to Paris Democratic Kurdish Society Center near Strasbourg Saint-Denis.
Youths distributed leaflets and chanted slogans condemning the plot during the course of the march.
REIMS
Ciwanên Azad youths also led the demonstration in the city of Reims where another torch march was staged against the international plot and isolation of the Kurdish leader. Despite police forces' attempts to hinder the march, youths continued their protest and forced police to retreat amid intense public interest in the demo which ended with a press statement.
MARSEILLE
Kurds also gathered in the city of Marseille and staged a torch march from Canabier Square to Vieux Porte Square. A press statement on behalf of the demonstrators was followed by the speech of Kemal Güler from the Democratic Kurdish Society Center of Marseille who described the AKP regime's most recent attacks including the closing of TV and radio stations as preparations for a massacre. Güler underlined that struggle united around Öcalan was the only way to frustrate this planned massacre.
