The 2nd stage of the long march of the internationalists, which kicked off yesterday in Basel, Switzerland, within the scope of the "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, a political solution to the Kurdish question" campaign started globally on 10 October, started in Saint-Louis, France in the morning.
Nearly 200 internationalists from 13 different countries are participating in the internationalist march, which has been traditionally organised before every 15 February since 2017 to demand the freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
Internationalists marching behind the banner "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, a political solution to the Kurdish question", are carrying posters of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and PKK flags. During the march, slogans of freedom and resistance are frequently chanted in different languages, while leaflets are distributed to draw attention to the isolation of Öcalan and the paradigms of the Kurdish leader.
During the march, which is also attended by Kurdish residents living on the route, slogans are chanted in support of the resistance in Turkish prisons where political prisoners have been on a hunger strike on 27 November to support the demands of the international campaign.
The internationalists are holding meetings with the municipalities along the route and present files to the authorities regarding the isolation conditions of the Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
The route of the internationalists' freedom march is as follows:
12 February, Saint Louis to Sierenz,
13 February from Mulhouse to Wittenheim,
14 February from Colmar to Selestat,
On 15 February, the group will march in the centre of Strasbourg.
The internationalists will conclude the action with a press conference in Strasbourg on 16 February. On 17 February they will attend the central rally in Cologne.
