The Turkish regime’s repression against the HDP continues increasingly before the local elections scheduled for March 31.
Dersim Public Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation against Sezai Temelli, co-chair of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, over a speech he had made during the candidate representation meeting held in the city on January 31.
Accusing Temelli of “praising Abdullah Öcalan and spreading terrorist propaganda”, the prosecutor conveyed the investigation to Ankara Public Prosecutor’s Office due to the parliamentary immunity of Temelli.
Halide Türkoğlu, deputy co-chair of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), who had spoken in the same meeting, was also subject to an investigation for allegedly “spreading terrorist propaganda”.
