The Iraqi Presidency said that the Turkish violations of Iraqi airspace are a clear breach of international norms and conventions.
The Presidency of the Republic of Iraq called for the cessation of violations of national sovereignty as a result of the repeated Turkish military actions and violation of Iraqi airspace, which left a number of unarmed civilians dead.
In a statement issued today, the Iraqi President stressed that these actions are a flagrant violation of the principle of good-neighborliness and an explicit violation of international norms and covenants.
Condemning these violations, the Presidency affirmed the necessity to solve the border problems and security files between Iraq and Turkey through cooperation and coordination, the rejection of unilateralism in dealing with outstanding issues, and the obligation to respect Iraqi sovereignty.
