ISIS attacks on Kobanê leave 8 civilians dead, 19 wounded

ISIS gangs who have recently been inflicted severe blows by YPG/YPJ fighters in Kobanê and are being pushed out of the town now are increasing their attacks on civilians in the besieged town. Mortar shells deliberately targeting civilian-inhabited areas in the last two days have left 8 people dead, including 3 children, and 19 people wounded.

ISIS gangs have today launched consecutive mortar attacks on civilian-inhabited areas. In the first attack at 14.00, one mortar shell didn't explode, while five others hit an area inhabited by three relative families, leaving a child dead and 6 people wounded.

8-year-old Azize Kuno who was severely wounded after being hit in the stomach by shell fragments died at Suruç state hospital she was rushed to after the attack.

18-year-old Heyder Yusif Ebdo who sustained an injury in the chest was referred to Urfa following first response in Kobanê.

21-year-old Abdullatif Mihemed and 23-year-old Asma Ebdo were taken under treatment at Suruç state hospital, while the other wounded are being treated in Kobanê.

8-year-old Azize Kuno's mother said that; "ISIS is beast. What did they want from us? We were not armed." She said she will not leave Kobanê and lay her daughter to rest in the town.

The second attack on civilians targeted the Til Shair borderline to the west of Kobanê. Three consecutive mortar attacks were carried out against the civilians in the parking area for cars at around 4 p.m. 17-year-old Rezan, whose surname couldn't be clarified, and 60-year-old Ubeyt Mihemed were killed and 10 others were wounded in the attack.

8-year-old İwa Ebdo who also sustained an injury in the attack died at Suruç state hospital he was referred to.

Asîman Elî (50), Mihemed Bekir (21), Mistefe Adem (13), Omer Elî (24), Munir Mehmud Ebdo (5), Ebdilkadir Xelîl (51), Munir Ebdo (50) and Evdila Qaso (24), who were wounded by shell fragments hitting various parts of their bodies, were taken under treatment at Suruç state hospital. The other wounded civilians are being treated in the hospital in Kobanê.

A 66-year-old man, Bekre Xoran, was killed by snipers affiliated to the ISIS gangs while on his way home in south Kobanê Monday night.

3 years old Dîlber Mehemed Îbrahim, 26 years old Egîd Nebo, father of one, and 35 years old Nebo Elî, father of four, were also killed in another mortar attack by ISIS gangs in Tîl Shair village -in the besieged town of Kobanê- last Saturday. The mortar attack also left three civilians, İbrahim Bozan (34), Mehmûd Ebas and Agirî İbrahim, wounded.
