BRAUNSCHWEIG
A group of a thousand Kurdish people living in Braunschweig and their political friends have gathered at Schollosplatz and held a march afterwards. The crowd distributed leaflets condemning the attacks. The march was also support by the leftist organisations in Germany as well as the by Democratic Power Unity members.
MÜNSTER
A group of 200 Kurdish, Turkish and German activists held a march in protest at the attacks on Kobanê in Münster. The march started at Münster station and ended at the town centre.
BREMEN
Thousands of people protested the attacks of ISIS gangs in Bremen, responding to the call of PYD Bremen branch. The action was supported by Bremen Democratic Kurdish Society Centre, Saidi Kürdi Mosque, DIDF Bremen, Bremen Cem House, YEK, Kurdistan Solidarity Committee and NGO’s.
The group gathered at Bremen Central Station and marched to the parliament, where they held a rally.
HAMBURG
Over 2000 Kurdish people and their political friends held a rally in front of Hamburg central station in protest at the ISIS attacks on Kobanê , responding to the joint call of Hamburg Democratic Kurdish Society Centre, Rojbin Women’s Assembly and Democratic Power Unity. The group called on the German government to take action against the attacks and the Turkish government.
Speaking at the rally, Die Linke Hamburg MP, Cansu Özdemir recalled that the attackers infiltrated into Kobanê from the Turkish border and condemned the Turkish government for its support to ISIS gangs. Özdemir called on the German government to take a stand against the Turkish government.
Speaking after, Hamburg Democratic Kurdish Society Centre, Hatice Kaya said the Kurdish people living abroad condemns the attack and called on all the Kurdish people to unite and to step up the struggle.
The representatives of the NGOs in Hamburg also condemned the brutal attacks in their speeches and said that they always stand by the liberation struggle of the Kurdish people.
The group held a march to the Turkish consulate in Hamburg following the speeches, chanting the slogans “Terrorist Turkey-Erdoğan”, “Long Live Kobanê Resistance”. The march was participated by Kurdish, Turkish, Iranian and German leftists as well as the Yazidi and Assyrian people in Hamburg.
GİESSEN
Around 500 people protested the attacks of ISIS gangs on Kobanê also in Giessen, gathering at Berlinplatz. The group then held a march, which was also attended by the members of Die Linke, European Syriacs Unity and AKM Giessen branch. The crowd frequently chanted during the march the slogans “Terrorist Turkey”, “Terrorist Erdoğan”, and “Long Live YPG/YPJ”.
