ISIS gangs have again attacked the peshmerga units near Abû Mihemed village in Dakuk district of Kirkuk, Southern Kurdistan.
ISIS gangs have launched an attack on Abû Mihemed village of Kakai Kurds at around 13:00 Sunday noon. Clashes that erupted in the wake of the attack on Kakai peshmerga units with heavy weaponry, lasted for around one hour.
Speaking to ANF about the attack that came during Kirkuk Governor Najmaldin Karim’s visit to Dakuk, Dakuk Peshmerga Commander Amid Araz Abdulkadir stated that the attack has been repelled without peshmerga units suffering any losses.
ISIS gangs had attacked the Abû Mihemed village two days ago, resulting in the death of 3 peshmergas and injury of 8 others.
Another attack on Fayli Kurds on July 26 had claimed the life of 5 civilians and left 4 others wounded.
Alongside Hashdi Shabi and Kakai peshmerga units, Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) peshmergas as well as asayish forces are stationed in Dakuk district bordering the Kirkuk’s Hawija district under ISIS occupation.
