ISIS launches a large-scale attack on Rutba town of Anbar province

ISIS gangs have started an aggression on Rutba town of the Iraqi Anbar province early Sunday morning. Fighting in the town is reportedly to be intensifying.

ISIS gangs have started an aggression on Rutba town of the Iraqi Anbar province early Sunday morning. Fighting in the town is reportedly to be intensifying.

Security forces reported that ISIS groups attacked the town from three sides and with bomb-laden vehicles in the early hours of the morning.

Iraqi state television also reported that the town is witnessing violent clashes after a large-scale attack by the ISIS, and that the security forces in the town are calling for urgent support.

An Iraqi military official said to the press that the attack has been launched by the ISIS groups coming from Syria.

The military official confirmed the reports of casualties and injuries on the side of security forces, and pledged to protect the Rutba town at any cost for the accomplishment of the Mosul operation.
