Ismail Kino: Left-socialist forces must also fight against isolation

DBP Party Assembly member Ismail Kino spoke about the isolation imposed on Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and said: “Left-socialist forces also need to fight against this isolation policy.”

The aggravated isolation conditions imposed on Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan continue. Weekly applications by his lawyers and family to go and visit him are rejected. The entire society continues to experience the political, social and financial effects of the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan.

Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Party Assembly member Ismail Kino spoke to ANF about the isolation imposed on the Kurdish people's leader.

Kino said that the Kurdish people and other peoples living in Kurdistan see Abdullah Öcalan as a memory. He added that hegemonic forces and local collaborators wanted to end the Kurdish movement by handing Abdullah Öcalan over to Turkey, and noted that they aimed to destroy the memory of Kurdistan as well.

Kurds do not forget the conditions of Abdullah Öcalan

Kino said: “After capturing Mr. Öcalan as the result of an international conspiracy and imprisoning him in Imrali, they put forward the KDP as the representative of the Kurds. The Kurds did not see the KDP, which has nothing to do with Kurdishness, as a credible representative. Therefore, they continued to follow and act with the philosophy of Mr. Öcalan and tried to apply his paradigm. The Kurdish people are not a people who will forget the conditions in which Mr. Abdullah Öcalan is held. Because Mr. Öcalan has brought the Kurds from the extinction process to a level that has enabled them to be among the free world peoples again. Again, he fought for the peoples of the Middle East and tried to make them live together again.”

Hegemonic powers are losing their masks

Underlining that the Kurdish people should raise awareness about the deepening isolation conditions of Abdullah Öcalan and take steps to break it, Kino said: “Not only the Kurds, but also intellectuals, democrats, revolutionaries, women and even liberals need to break the isolation of Mr. Öcalan. The important thing is that we act together at the right time, leaving aside ideological differences. Because now the masks of hegemonic powers are falling. The whole world now sees and knows why Mr. Öcalan is being held there.”

An attack on the Kurds in an attack on the Middle East

Stressing that everyone should understand that the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan is a policy implemented to target the Kurdish people as a whole, Kino said: “Kurds and their parties and representatives need to see the conditions of this isolation. Deepening the isolation is not just a policy carried out by the AKP-MHP. At the same time, it is the policy of the hegemonic powers seeking to deprive the Kurds of their status. They want to bury Mr. Öcalan's paradigm. That's why left-socialist forces should understand this and organize their struggle against it. Because every attack on the Kurdish reality is an attack on the peoples of the Middle East.”
