Istanbul Film Festival kicks off
The 32nd Istanbul Film Festival from 30 March to 14 April has begun once again promising a programme of high quality and variety with more than 200 films from all around the world to be displayed under more than 20 sections.
Differently from previous years, this year's programme includes a new section titled “Stories of Women”, “From Literature to Silver Screen”, “Am I Not a Citizen?”, and “Reality is a Miracle: Carlos Reygadas”.
Works to be displayed at the festival also include feature films of 2012 and 2013, unforgettable classic films, masterpieces of master directors, films having premiered in Sundance in January and in Berlin International Film Festival in February, Golden Tulip and FACE Competitions to documentaries, and children films.
The festival programme also includes panels, workshops and master classes with expert film makers, as well as documentaries, films and video works from the U.S., Russia, Argentina and Turkey.
The poster of the festival features a photograph shot by Nuri Bilge Ceylan, the leading director of contemporary “auteur” cinema, screenwriter and photography artist.
