Italian activists protest against Turkish occupation threats

Demonstrations against Turkey’s threats to occupy Northern and Eastern Syria are spreading.

Dozens of Italian activists have protested in front of the Turkish consulate in Genoa.

The activists were protesting against the Turkish threats of occupation of Northern and Eastern Syria territories.

The protest was also to show solidarity with HDP Hakkari MP, Leyla Guven, on her 59th day of hunger strike demanding the end of the isolation imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

“Our demonstration - said an activist of Senza Paura association Rete Kurdistan - is to protest against the threats issued by the Turkish state to invade Rojava territories. The aim of Turkey is to end the democratic autonomy model implemented in Northern and Eastern Syria.”
