Jailed co-mayor suspected of Covid-19 infection quarantined

The jailed co-mayor of Mazıdağı, Nalan Özaydın, has been put into quarantine on suspicion of Covid-19.

It came out that HDP co-mayor of Mazıdağı district in Mardin province who was removed from post and imprisoned in Tarsus T Type Women’s Closed Prison, has been quarantined on suspicion of Covid-19.

According to reports, Özaydın was taken to the Public Hospital in Tarsus, a district in the southern province of Mersin, with asthma and panic attack complaints 20 days ago. She was then put in a separate ward in Tarsus Prison. Upon an appeal by her lawyers, she was transferred to Mardin E Type Closed Prison over her health issues.

Before being transferred to hospital, Özaydın was taken to Mardin Public Hospital for medical checkup, where she was diagnosed with Covid-19 infection with “high suspicion”. She was then put into quarantine on the third floor of the hospital.

The test result of Özaydın has not been determined yet, reports say.
