'Jin, Jiyan, Azadi' resistance continues despite state crackdown in Iran

As the 'Jin, Jiyan, Azadi' resistance in Iran and Rojhilat Kurdistan has marked its 135th day, Iranian courts are issuing heavy sentences against demonstrators, teachers, activists and journalists.

In the city of Sine, an activist named Refiq Selim was sentenced for the crime of "spreading wickedness in the world". Many civil society activists, artists, academics, journalists and individuals were sentenced for their participation in the demonstrations.

The trial of Armita Ebasi, an arrested demonstrator, was held yesterday. It is reported that Ebasi was tortured and attacked in detention.

Astyar Haghighi and her husband, Amir Muhammedi, were sentenced to 10 years in prison for dancing in public in Tehran. Also, director Mesud Kimyayi was given a travel ban.

In the city of Ciwanro (Jawanroud), numerous soldiers were deployed to various points of the city yesterday.

It is further reported that Iranian forces attacked the people in the city of Xoy (Khoy) damaged by the earthquake.

The resistance in Iran and Rojhilat Kurdistan continues despite arrests, detentions and executions by the state forces.
