The fourth hearing of the case against workers of the Kurdish press resumes at Istanbul 15th High Criminal Court at Silivri Prison Complex in Istanbul.
46 workers of Kurdish press, including Dicle News Agency, ANF, Özgür Gündem, Azadiya Welat, Demokratik Modernite and Fırat Distribution, were arrested in the scope of a so-called KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) operation on 20 December 2011. Twenty six among them are under arrest ever since.
Journalists on trial have attended today's trial wearing black to mark the 98th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in 1915. "We are sharing the pain of the Armenian Genocide", said journalist Ertuş Bozkurt who is presenting the journalists' 28-paged joint defense statement, in Kurdish, to the court board.
