Responding to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoðanwho said parliamentary immunity of some Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) deputies will be lifted, BDP Þýrnak MP Hasip Kaplan said on his twitter account that "They would no doubt deny us everything if it wasn't for the power of the people that have elected us. However, it should be remembered that those who touched us got burnt and died out politically".

"It is surprising to hear that they will strip us of our parliamentary immunity which I really doubt whether we already have or not. This government which allows the appointed authorities oppress the elected authorites has no respect for the will of the people", said Kaplan MP.

Referring to the motion prepared by the Prime Ministry and submitted to Parliament to strip BDP deputies of their parliamentary immunity, Kaplan said that; "Those who prepare motion against us are themselves subjected to summary of proceedings on charges of theft, fraudulence and bid rigging".
