KCDK-E calls for immediate protests against Turkish use of chemical weapons in South Kurdistan

The KCDK-E calls for immediate protests due to the Turkish chemical weapons use in the southern Kurdish Medya Defense Areas. The first protests have already taken place.

After the People's Defense Forces HPG reported on the use of Turkish chemical weapons in South Kurdistan, the Kurdish European umbrella organization KCDK-E called for protests. The association attributed the use of the banned chemical warfare agents to the lack of success of the Turkish invasion in the Medya Defense Areas. Turkey has suffered heavy casualties in its previous attacks on the area.

"Stop burying your head in the sand"

The KCDK-E statement said: "In the face of its defeats and resistance, the Turkish state resorts to chemical weapons, a method of dirty warfare. As in the previous year, the defense of Kurdistan is to be broken in this way.”

The KCDK-E called on the Kurdish diaspora in Europe to give the guerrilla resistance a voice. Addressing the European states, the KCDK-E said: "We call on the European states to oppose the use of chemical weapons and to condemn the brutal attack on Kurdistan, instead of continuing to bury their heads in the sand and pretend they can't see anything. Our people should stand up wherever they are and expose the barbaric Turkish state.”

Protests had already taken place in Switzerland, France and the Netherlands late on Sunday evening.
