Co-Chairs of the European Kurdish Democratic Societies Congress (KCDK-E) released a written statement denouncing the Turkish state’s increasingly ongoing invasion attacks in the territory of Kurdistan, noting that these attacks target both residential areas and the defence zones of freedom guerrillas.
“Hundreds of civilians lost their lives in the ongoing attacks. The invading army knows no boundaries concerning moral values and conventions in its attacks. Nevertheless, the Turkish army has failed against the freedom guerrillas. The defeated Turkish army now wants to achieve results by employing chemical weapons, which constitutes a crime against humanity. The Turkish army has used banned chemical weapons 2,470 times in the last 6 months.
At least 89 guerrillas have been killed in the chemical attacks so far. The stance of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in the face of the use of chemical weapons is incompatible with any laws or human dignity.
The silence of international institutions, especially the OPCW, NATO and the UN, encourages the Turkish state to commit massacres with chemical weapons without hesitation. The OPCW ignores even the reports of journalists and researchers investigating the use of chemicals.
We do not accept the stance adopted by the OPCW and international organizations. For this reason, we urge the OPCW, and all international institutions, governments and world public opinion to take immediate action to prevent further massacres.
'WE SHOULD BE THE GUERILLAS’ BREATH'
We, Kurds and their allies, must be the voice and breath of the Kurdish fighters at a time when they are killed, and their breath is taken away by chemical weapons.
Today is not the time to care about daily concerns. Today is the day to stand up everywhere against those who take our children's breath away.
NOVEMBER 1 RALLY
We will call on the OPCW to urgently fulfil its humanitarian, legal and universal duties during our march in The Hague, the Netherlands, on November 1. Sending a delegation to the region urgently to investigate the use of chemical weapons will be the main demand of our march.
As the KCDK-E, we call on everyone to actively participate in the march which will take place on November 1 in Malieveld the Hague at 11:00 to be the breath of Kurdistan freedom guerrillas and to embrace all the values and future of Kurdistan with the participation of Kurds from Germany, France, Belgium and France.”
