KCDK-E calls for unity and action for world peace

In a written statement to mark September 1-World Peace Day, KCDK-E Co-Chairs called for unity for peace by saying "No to War".

The European Kurdistan Democratic Societies Congress (KCDK-E) released a written statement to mark September 1-World Peace Day. “Wars throughout human history have led to disasters that threatened human life, destroyed nature, and left millions of people without shelter, injured, hungry and miserable. In the contemporary world, the dominant powers continue to be a threat to human life through wars,” said the statement released on Friday, which further included the following:

“Global arms monopolies sell all kinds of weapons, including chemical ones, to despotic and racist regimes. They also support the genocidal dirty war waged by the Turkish state against the Kurds and other peoples in our region.

The fascist Turkish state, which has spilt blood in Turkey for 100 years, denying and assimilating the peoples and faiths, continues to be the only obstacle to a common life and peace among the peoples. Encouraged by the silence and support of the sovereign states, dictator Erdogan is promoting large-scale wars in the region, destroying nature, and brutally murdering civilians, including children and women, for the sake of his own occupying ambitions.

Erdogan and his fascist regime describe Kurdish self-government as a security threat to Turkey. Under the pretext of security concerns, Erdogan continues with all forms of looting, plunder and atrocities in the Middle East and Kurdistan in an attempt to justify his expansionist ambitions.

Dictator Erdogan is a threat to regional and world peace. This threat leads to instability in the region. Moreover, the silence and ambivalent approach of the European states serves Turkey's expansionist ambitions in the region.

Therefore, it is our common duty to oppose war, defend democracy and embrace the justified demands of the oppressed peoples.

With their struggle against reactionism and colonialism in the Kurdish region and their projects that promote woman emancipation and an ecological, common and democratic life, the Kurds are an important part of the struggle for peace both in the region and in the world.

The Kurds proved it during their fight against barbarian ISIS and restored human dignity.

Having failed to win his dirty war against the Kurdish women and young people who fought heroically against ISIS barbarism, Erdoğan is currently seeking to take revenge by using chemical weapons.

We reiterate our demand for “No War” and peace for the whole world on September 1 in order to secure world peace and prevent ecological destruction and massacres.

We call on our people to stand up for the Rojava revolution, against the dirty war, the chemical attacks and the invasion operation of Erdogan.

Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan has always advocated a lasting and honourable peace based on the idea of a free life he proposed.

On World Peace Day, we request you to endorse our motto 'Freedom for Öcalan, Peace in Kurdistan'.

The KCDK-E urges everyone, especially the Kurdish people, to participate strongly in all activities to be held to mark World Peace Day.”
