Kurdish organisations call on everyone to attend demos against chemical weapons on 12 November

A number of Kurdish parties and organisations called on everyone to attend the demonstrations that will take place in Düsseldorf as well as in various European cities to protest the Turkish use of chemical weapons and the silence of European institutions.

A number of Kurdish parties and organisations called on everyone to attend the demonstrations promoted by dozens of Kurdish parties and organisations that will take place in Dusseldorf as well as in various European cities to protest the Turkish use of chemical weapons and the silence of European institutions.

The call of the organisations said: “Let's stand up in the spirit of national unity to put an end to the plunder, occupation and chemical attacks in the lands of Kurdistan. Let’s put an end to the attacks against the existence of the Kurdish people.

The AKP-MHP racist government is carrying out the Kurdish genocide at the highest level in the lands of Kurdistan in order to overcome the deep crisis it is experiencing and to ensure its continuity.”

The call continued: “The Turkish state is attacking hoping to realize its dreams of new Ottomanism, and to re-occupy and annex Kurdistan. The Turkish government is not content with the attacks in Bakur, Rojava, Basur and also attack intellectuals and human rights defenders such as Şebnem Koro Fincancı.

The Turkish government wants to get results by implementing policies of occupation and massacre in Kurdistan. The Turkish state, which failed as a result of the resistance of the freedom guerrillas and the people of Kurdistan, wants to destroy the achievements and future of all the people of Kurdistan, by disregarding international laws and conventions, and using chemical weapons. The ongoing attacks and occupation are against the entire Kurdistan territory, and Kurdistan as a whole is at risk of genocide.”

The statement added: “Since the Kurds were not organized without institutions a century ago, the rulers divided Kurdistan into four.

We, as Kurdish institutions and parties in Europe, call on international powers and institutions to end their silence and to stop being partners in the massacre by Turkey with their silence.”

The organisers of the demonstrations said that “iIt is the duty of the OPCW, which was formed by the will of 193 countries, to send a delegation to the region as requested by Kurds and various European institutions, to investigate the use of chemical weapons. Our democratic actions will continue until this demand is fulfilled.

We, the undersigned Kurdish institutions and parties in Europe, must carry out a strong mobilization against chemical attacks in order to defend all Kurds in the spirit of national unity, our lands, our honour and our future.”

The signatories called on people to attend the demonstrations to take place in Germany, Northern France, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Belgium on 12 November.
