KCDK-E calls on Kurds in Europe to stand up for Shengal

After the new Turkish airstrikes on Shengal, Kurds in Europe are mobilising.

The European Kurdish Democratic Society Congress (KCDK-E) Co-presidency has called on Kurdish people living in Europe to organise an ”uninterrupted action" after the attack launched byTurkish state on Kocho village of Shengal on Wednesday.

The statement said: “The Turkish state is looking for a new massacre of the Yazidi people in Shengal who resisted the persecution of DAESH (ISIS) mercenaries”.

The airstrikes carried out by the Turkish army, said the KCDK-E, are yet another attempt to destroy Kurdistan and the Yazidi people.

“As in Afrin, - underlined the statement - in Shengal as well civilians are clearly targeted. Many civilians were wounded in the attacks.”

The statement continued; "The KDP which abandoned the people of Shengal into the hands of barbarians during ISIS attacks, is again leaving the people to the invading Turkish state, the boss of the gangs. The history is again writing treason. Our people in both South Kurdistan and Shengal are facing a great danger."

The KCDK-E invited the people living in Europe to "promote an uninterrupted action to shout our outrage to international institutions, states and powers, and to stop the new massacre of Yazidis”.

The appeal ended with a call to “the people in Europe, Canada, Japan, Australia and elsewhere to take to the streets and defend the people of sacred Yazidi land Shengal”.
