KCDK-E condemns the raid on the Kurdish DKTM centre in Bielefeld

"Germany's policy of criminalizing the Kurdish institutions serves the dictator Erdogan”, said the KCDK-E in a statement

The European Kurdish Democratic Society Congress (KCDK-E) issued a statement condemning the raid by the German police of the Bielefeld Democratic Kurdish Community Center (DKTM) on Tuesday.

In a written statement, KCDK-E co-presidency noted that the unlawful raids that the German government are carrying out against Kurdish institutions have increased after the 24 June elections.

The statement mentioned pictures of the Bielefeld centre after the raid: flags, photos and books have been seized by police that broke the doors of the centre in an illegal way.

The raid at Bielefeld centre was preceded by raids carried out on associations in Berlin, Hannover and Heilbron.

The KCDK-E statement pointed out that “Germany is acting on order by Turkish dictator Erdogan” and added that “the methods used worryingly resembled those used by the AKP regime”.

Reiterating that there is an attack on Kurdish institutions and associations in Germany, the KCDK-E co-presidency council added that “this attack is carried out using the excuse that the PKK is illegal in Germany and therefore linking all Kurdish associations to it, whereas the reality is that they want to severe the networks and links created by Kurds through their associations”.

The KCDK-E urged the Kurdish and democratic people to "oppose this attacks by the German state. We urge all sensitive people, especially our patriotic people, to support the Kurdish community centres”.
