KCDK-E says 55 Kurds have died of coronavirus in Europe

At least 55 Kurds have died of coronavirus in Europe. Nearly a thousand cases have been detected.

Dozens of Kurds have died of coronavirus in Europe, one of the continents most affected by the pandemic.

Germany, France, Belgium, England, Netherlands, Switzerland, where many Kurds live, are among the countries most hardly hit.

In Germany, where the Kurdish population is most concentrated, the number of cases approached 120,000. Although the number of people who lost their lives is relatively low compared to the number of cases, the absence of any case raises concerns.

According to estimates, around 1,500,000 thousand Kurds live in Germany.

According to figures released by the KCDK-E, 55 Kurds have lost their lives in European countries so far, and at least 955 people have been infected. While the average age of those who lost their lives is 60, the death of a 4-year-old child is also recorded.

While most of the deaths among Kurds have ocurred in the UK, Germany, Sweden and France are next in row.

Germany and the UK are also leading in the number of Kurds who contracted the virus. These figures refer to the cases recorded by the KCDK-E, however, the real figures may be higher.
