KCDK-E: Support the Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan Vigil after the fascist attack

The KCDK-E said: "We call on our people to support the Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan Vigil after the attack by fascist mobs."

Turkish fascist mobs attacked the Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan Vigil, which has been held in Strasbourg since 25 June 2012.

It was learned that the attackers escaped after breaking and scattering the posters at the protest site when the Kurdish activists were not there.

The Congress of Democratic Societies of European Kurdistan (KCDK-E) made a written statement regarding the attack and called for the action to be supported.

The KCDK-E said in its statement: "The Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan Initiative has been holding the Freedom Vigil in Strasbourg since 25 June 2012, with the aim of ensuring the physical freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and ending the isolation imposed on him in Imrali.

The symbolic vigil protesting the attitudes of all actors in the international conspiracy contributing to the Kurdish genocide and ending the isolation imposed on our Leader has been embraced by thousands of activists for years."

The statement added: "The Freedom Vigil, which is an important action for the Kurdish people and their friends, was attacked by Turkish fascist groups.

The aggressive attitude and criminalization policies of the French government against the Kurdish Freedom Struggle have encouraged fascist groups. It is clear that this open attack against the Freedom Vigil, which will complete its 12th anniversary on 25 June, is directly related to France's attitude.

As KCDK-E, we call on the French government and the entire state structure to impose sanctions against provocations, and to thwart fascist provocations."
