KCK's letter not conveyed to Öcalan

In an interview to Özgür Gündem daily about the meeting with Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan on 14 October, BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) parliamentary group deputy chair Pervin Buldan said that the government has yet to convey KCK's (Kurdistan Communities Union) letter to Öcalan.

“We had demanded the delivery of KCK's letter to Mr. Öcalan through the Ministry of Justice but we learned during the meeting that the letter hasn't been conveyed to İmralı yet”, Buldan said.

The government also intervened in the BDP delegation that paid the last visit to İmralı, denying co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş participation in the delegation.

According to Buldan, Öcalan said he wanted the process to progress but underlined that he would not be able to provide the necessary contribution as long as he had very restricted means of communication.

Öcalan -Buldan said- repeated his call for the urgent formation of a legal ground to ensure the return of guerrillas to the society after laying arms down.
