KCK: Turkey aiming to complement attacks with buffer zone

The KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Executive Council Presidency has issued a written statement regarding clashes in Kobanê and the resistance on both sides of the border.

The KCK has drawn attention to the Turkish state's policy of emptying Rojava, saying: "Emptying Rojava is as dangerous as massacre". The KCK stressed that the buffer zone Turkey intends to establish on the Rojava border aims to "support and complement ISIS attacks."

The KCK statement said the people of Rojava and North Kurdistan must oppose and resist the plans to establish a 'buffer zone' and "expose these dirty plots".

Remarking that the people of Kobanê and the YPG and YPJ forces have resisted heroically the fascist attacks of the ISIS gangs, having inflicted heavy losses on the gangs and having now moved from a defensive position on to the attack, the KCK statement said; “The reality in Kobanê is not as reported by the pro-AKP media and some Arab press that support ISIS. Our people in Kobanê are putting up stiff resistance. In the same way Stalingrad played a role against fascism during the Second World War, the Kobanê resistance has a key role in determining the outcome of the conflict. Neither the ISIS gang organisation, nor the Turkish state and the forces behind it will be able to accomplish their aims.”

KCK underlined that the people of Kurdistan must lend their support to the epic resistance in Kobanê, adding; “Those wishing to support the Kobanê resistance can do this by providing technical, armed and logistic support."

The people should return

KCK pointed out that it was correct for the Kobanê canton administration to evacuate the elderly, women and children from certain villages to more secure areas, warning that “but no one should fall into the Turkish state's trap to evacuate Kurdistan, which is as dangerous as massacre”.

KCK called on the people from Kobanê who have taken refuge with relatives over the border to return to Rojava as soon as possible and defend the land together with the YPG and YPJ forces.

The aim of the buffer zone is to complement gang attacks

The KCK Executive Council Presidency remarked that the purpose of the buffer zone which the Turkish state intends to establish on the Rojava border aims to 'support and complement ISIS attacks.' KCK urged the people of North Kurdistan and Rojava to resist this hostility to the Rojava revolution and frustrate this chicanery, noting that; “Kurdish People's Leader Apo’s call for mobilisation means the people should organise their lives according to war conditions and launch resistance everywhere, not just in Rojava and Kobanê.”

Emphasising that the Kurdish people are more organised than they have ever been, KCK said developments in the region present the Kurdish people with historic opportunities to achieve freedom and democracy.

KCK vowed that the Kurdish people will resist and protect their existence and freedom, and on this basis called on the people of Kurdistan to once again unite and step up the struggle.
