Residents of Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood have strongly condemned the silence of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) under Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) rule as the Turkish state has intensified its military operations and attacks against South Kurdistan in an attempt to depopulate and invade the region under the guise of “fight against PKK”.

Lemya Ebdo, a resident of the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, remarked that Kurds on four parts of Kurdistan are one, and continued; “The enemies of the Kurdish people have divided our country into four parts. I condemn the KDP which has paved the way for the Turkish state’s invasion attacks. KDP is accomplice to the attacks and crimes against South Kurdistan. Kurds must unite and never allow the realization of a plot against their future.”

Another resident, Rehîme Celal Elo, stressed that a crime was being committed against the Kurdish people in South Kurdistan. She said; “KDP has surrendered five strategic hills in Zakho to the Turkish invasion army. We protest this attitude of the South Kurdistan government as it poses a great danger against the Kurdish people.”

Another woman, named Zeynep Nasir, told that; “The Turkish state is fighting against the Kurdish people. KDP engages in partnership with the Turkish state and makes dirty plans against the Kurdish people.”
