The largest umbrella organization of the Kurdish diaspora in Germany, KON-MED issued a written statement concerning the Turkish state's latest wave of attacks against Shengal and called on the Kurds and their friends to take to the streets.
The KON-MED statement includes the following:
"The fascist Turkish state continues with the genocide against the Kurdish people. Numerous people were injured and martyred in an air strike on the Shengal market and the hospital in the village of Sikêniyê in the south of Shengal. The local people who were trying to save the injured were bombed again by the bloody Turkish army. In this hideous attack, Turkish drones prevented the local people from rescuing the injured from the hospital debris. All these attacks are carried out before the public’s eyes.
It is the international powers, the USA and Germany that are silent and clear the way for the massacres of the barbaric fascist Turkish state. As a NATO member, the US opened the Iraqi airspace and approves all kinds of unlawful and inhuman attack methods of the fascist Turkish State. It is the German government that makes agreements based on economic interests. Turkey-ISIS terrorism is funded with the money obtained from the EU refugee deal. The reestablishment of an ISIS state is tolerated through ignoring all the massacres committed by the dictator Erdogan.
Our people should increase the resistance against colonialism everywhere by embracing their land, language, culture and national values more than ever, and by developing their national unity against the states that have remained silent and approved all these massacres by the fascist Turkish state. Only in this way can we stop the massacres and claim Kurdistan and our future.
As KON-MED, we call on all of our people and revolutionary democratic friends to stand up against the genocidal policies of the Turkish state and to embrace Shengal by taking to the streets and increasing the struggle against these attacks of the invading Turkish state.
