KON-MED said in a statement that Newroz will be celebrated in Frankfurt with the slogan of Epochal Victory Newroz and added: "We will transform the Frankfurt Newroz area into a Freedom and Resistance area on Saturday 25 March."

The statement continued: "Newroz has been the symbol of blacksmith Kawa's uprising and resistance against all kinds of exploitation, oppression and slavery until today. In this respect, Newroz is not only a holiday for the Kurdish people, but also for the peoples of the region and the world, and is their main source of resistance and struggle."

The Kurdish people have always resisted oppression from history to the present day and have continued the Newroz tradition, said the statement, adding: "Newroz expresses the reality of peoples' resistance history and tradition reflected in mythology, epics and folk songs. There have been cruel Dehaks in history as well as today, and the peoples who were oppressed under the oppression of the Dehaks revolted under the leadership of the Blacksmith Kawas and demolished the castles of oppression and brought the peoples back into existence and set them free. The great resistance and struggle against today's Dehaks in the same ancient territory, Kurdistan and the Middle East, under the leadership of contemporary Kawas, proves this historical fact.

2023 Newroz is the 50th anniversary of the great freedom march that Leader Apo [Abdullah Öcalan] started during the Newroz process. To celebrate this, Newroz 2023 has a special meaning for us. Leader Apo understood that the Kurdish people could only be saved from extinction by the resistance tradition of Newroz, against the policies of denial and annihilation of today's genocidal colonial order, and acted accordingly."

The statement continued: "On this basis, the Kurdish people will welcome the 50th Anniversary of Resistance Newroz with this awareness. The greatest goal of the Kurdish people in this year of resistance is the freedom of Leader Apo. With this slogan, millions of people around the world, especially in Kurdistan, celebrated Newroz.

As KON-MED, the umbrella organization of Kurdish institutions in Germany, on the basis of strengthening the national unity of our people with this Newroz and protecting their national and social gains, together with all our revolutionary and democrat friends, we will organize Newroz in Frankfurt on 25 March."
