KON-MED calls for protests against Turkish chemical attacks

The Kurdish umbrella organisation in Germany, KON-MED, has called on all Kurdish people to take to the streets to protest the Turkish chemical attacks against the guerrilla forces.

After the People's Defence Forces (HPG) announced the identity information of 17 guerrillas who were martyred during the Turkish chemical attacks, Co-Chairs of KON-MED, the Kurdish umbrella organisation in Germany, called for massive protests.

“The Turkish State is continuing its attacks against South Kurdistan. All kinds of war crimes are committed during these attacks which aim at the genocide of the Kurdish people and the elimination of the Kurdish Freedom Movement in violation of international laws. The Turkish use of chemical weapons has become systematic. Most recently, 17 Freedom Guerrillas have been martyred in the attacks that were carried out with banned bombs and chemical weapons,” said the KON-MED statement, which further included the following:

“Although the Turkish state's violation of international laws and its inhuman practices constitute war crimes, the relevant international institutions have turned a blind eye and continue to do so. Their silence shows that they are partners in the massacres.

We call on all international institutions to stop supporting these racist and genocidal policies of the Turkish state against our people and their freedom forces. Don't be a party to this inhuman crime!

We call for support for the Freedom Guerrilla that have been resisting heroically against these attacks of the Turkish State.

We call on all Kurds and their friends to stage protests to show their reactions.”
