KONGRA GEL has called upon the Kurdish people to show solidarity with the hunger strike launched in Amed yesterday with demand of immediate access to Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
In a statement about the hunger strike in Amed, KONGRA GEL Co-Presidency stated that the threat and danger regarding the health, security and life of Öcalan has reached the highest level at the moment, saying; “The AKP government has given no answer so far to Kurdistan Freedom Movement’s calls and Kurdish people's efforts demanding direct meeting with Leader Apo in order that concerns over his situation be relieved. Furthermore, the AKP government's escalation of policies of enmity against the Kurdish people in the Middle East has carried the concerns over Leader Apo to an alarming level.”
KONGRA GEL saluted the indefinite – irreversible hunger strike launched by DTK, DBP, HDP, HDK and KJA in Amed which -it said- represents the conscience of the Kurdish people that are alarmed for their leader.
"The indefinite – irreversible hunger strikes in Amed and Strasbourg and the actions to be staged by patriotic Kurdish people and revolutionary-democrat circles in all parts of Kurdistan, Turkish metropols and Europe will spread in waves and expand to all areas."
Describing the current process as a new process of struggle against the fascism of Erdoğan state, KONGRA GEL underlined that; "On the basis of Leader Apo's health, security and freedom, and in unity with all peoples and all the oppressed, we will defeat fascism and create a free future for our peoples through a joint struggle."
KONGRA GEL ended its statement by saluting the hunger strike in Amed, heart of Kurdistan, and calling upon all the Kurdish people to unite around the resistance and embrace Öcalan.
