KURD-AKAD branch to open in London

Founded in Germany in 2009, KURD-AKAD will soon announce the establishment of a branch in London.

The policies of repression and assimilation against the Kurdish people have led to the forced displacement and migration of thousands of Kurds to many parts of the world.

Kurds in exile and abroad have been organising themselves and in 2009 in Germany KURD-AKAD was established in order to encourage scientific analysis of the issues affecting the Kurds and enable the Kurds to become active in European politics.

Now the organisation is ready to announce a new branch in London.

KURD-AKAD UK, which brings together Kurdish academics and students, conducts a wide range of activities from scientific research to social solidarity projects and solidarity with refugees. The Kurdish Professionals Network (KPN), established in London in 2010, has decided to continue its activities as part of KURD-AKAD UK.

Launch on Saturday 21 September

The first KURD AKAD-UK social event will take place in Babel Art House on 86th Stoke Newington High Street,  on 21 September, Saturday. People from all four parts of Kurdistan are expected to attend the event. The event will start with the introduction of KURD AKAD-UK.
