Kurdish children in Söderhamn, northern Sweden protested the AKP government's closure of Zarok TV, a children’s television network broadcasting in Kurdish.
Kurdish children in Söderhamn, northern Sweden protested the AKP government's closure of Zarok TV, a children’s television network broadcasting in Kurdish.
The children came together in Söderhamn Democratic Kurdish Society Center and carried placards with slogans like “We want children’s channel Zarok TV back”, “I want television in my mother tongue, Kurdish”, “Stop silencing Kurds”, Zarok TV”, “Med Nuçe TV” and “Newroz TV”.
Then the children passed out flyers protesting the closure of Zarok TV and other Kurdish networks with Kurdish youths in the city center.
The flyers included a call for Swedish politicians to not stay silent when Zarok TV and Kurdish television networks are being shut down and to take initiatives to have the networks reopen.
