Kurdish lawmakers in the Iranian parliament have submitted their resignation on Wednesday in response to the 2014 draft budget in which they said the government has reduced or eliminated spending for all vital and important projects in Kurdistan province.
Basnews quoted Seyîd Mihemed Beyatiyan, member of the Sine Council of Representatives, who spoke to Tesnim news agency, as saying that "We have submitted our resignation to the president of the parliament”.
Beyatiyan said the six deputies in the Sine city, the capital of Kurdistan province, have resigned to condemn the reduced budget allocated for the Kurdistan province.
Remarking that Sine deputies will hold a meeting on the budget of the Sine city, Beyatiyan said the meeting depended on the decision to be made by the president of the Iranian parliament.
Kurdistan is among the provinces with the highest rates of unemployment in Iran. The province has been deprived of many services in the last several years.
