Kurdish front Al-Akrad starts operation for Tal Abyad's liberation

Kurdish front al-Akrad Press Office said in a written statement on Tuesday that their fighters have launched an operation for Tal Abyad's liberation last night.

Al-Akrad stated that at least 30 ISIS (the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham) members were killed and 40 others, including two leaders, were taken captive since the beginning of the operation.

Al-Akrad remarked that a number of Al-Qaeda members fled to Turkey following fierce clashes in the city of Tal Abyad (Girê Spî in Kurdish) on Turkey's Syrian border. According to the front, the villages in Tal Abyad region have been liberated from the Al-Qaeda affiliated groups.

The Kurdish front said that ISIS wanted to make a fraternity agreement with Kurdish fighters after the operation started, adding that the front however refused the group's proposal considering their failure to keep the promises they had made earlier.

"We promise our people that the operation will continue until Girê Spî is entirely cleared of the Islamic State of Iraq", ai-Akrad said.
