The HPG has announced that detained CHP deputy Hüseyin Aygün would be released soon.

"As soon as we finish with the relevant work and issue related to the detention - the HPG said in a statement - we will release Hüseyin Aygün MP".

Hüseyin Aygün, CHP deputy for Dersim, had been detained by Kurdish guerrillas on Sunday in the Dersim region.

In their statement the Kurdish guerrillas underlined that "the detention of the CHP deputy was a way to remind him and his party no to follow the assimilation and repression policies carried out by the government".
