Kurdish guerrillas: Turkish army operation has already started

While military activity is being push forward at the Turkish bases in the areas of Kanî Masî, Bamernê, Girê Biyê, Amediyê and Þeladizê in South Kurdistan, ongoing surveillance flights have been made in Zagros, Xakurkê, Xinêre and Kandil areas by American planes which are providing intelligence for Turkey the last three days.

HPG (People's Defense Forces) Military Council Member Rubar Teyî said; “The number of tank and soldiers is increasing and intelligence works are in progress recently. In fact, the operation has started in South but there has been no contact yet”.

HPG Military Council Member Rubar Teyî told ANF about movements at Turkish military posts and the preparations of the guerrilla in case of a possible land operation. Pointing out that preparations are underway at the Turkish military posts in Kanî Masî, Bamernê, Girê Biyê, Amediyê, Þeladizê in South Kurdistan, Teyî said; “The air strike by the Turkish army on Media Defense Areas aim to occupy the South Kurdistan. Some preparations are underway in certain areas that have been formed as military bases since 1997. The mobilization and increase in the number of soldiers and military supplies indicate a coming land operation.”

According to the HPG commander, the intense military shipment to the military bases is made secretively by soldiers in civilian clothes and with civilian vehicles. Teyî remarks that these soldiers are mostly positioned at the Turkish military posts in Kanî Masî, Girê Biyê and Bamernê for an operation targeting Media Defense Areas.

Meanwhile, Turkish soldiers have opened fire to the Kanîcengê village in Diyana district of Hewler. The forested land around the village burnt down as a result of the fire.

According to local sources, Turkish soldiers from the Bêzokê and Museka posts at the border are patrolling in Þirwan and Hacýbeg areas of the Diyana town for some time. Sources say that the surrounding areas of Çamê, Kanî Lincê and Bersiyab villages have been blazed away and then set on fire by these patrolling soldiers.

Villagers in the region asked HPG guerrillas for help for not having security of life.
