Kurdish institutions: Freedom of Öcalan is the main issue

Representatives of the Kurdish institutions which took over the Freedom for Öcalan Vigil pointed out that the occupation attacks of the Turkish state can be prevented by a policy based on national unity.

The Freedom for Öcalan Vigil, which has been held since 25 June 2012 in front of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, continues with determination.

The Vigil has reached week 366 and the demand to free Öcalan will be repeated until freedom is indeed achieved.

Representatives of Kurdish institutions in Europe took over the Vigil with a press release and said they will maintain their presence until Saturday when a mass demonstration will be organised.

Kurdish patriots named Xebat Derik, Binevş Güler, Hasan Duray, İsmail and Abdülbaki, came from the Netherlands and took over the Vigil on Sunday and will remain in front of the Council of Europe until next Sunday.

Representatives of Kurdish institutions come from many European countries

There are many representatives of Kurdish instititions coming from various European countries: European Democratic Kurdish Society Congress (KCDK-E) Co-chairs Yüksel Koç and Fatoş Göksungur, KCDK-E Co-presidency Council members Demir Çelik, KON-MED from Germany, Civakên Kurdistanî (FCK) executives from Switzerland, Netherlands, CDK-F executives from France.

In addition, representatives of organizations such as the European Kurdish Women's Movement (TJK-E), the youth organization TCŞ, the Kurdistan Islamic Society (CIK), the Democratic Alevi Federation (FEDA) and the Martyrs and Missing Families Association (KOMAW) also took their place at the Freedom for Öcalan Vigil.

The representatives of the institutions and Kurdish patriots who joined the action pointed out that freedom of Öcalan is actually the first item on the agenda for Kurds. The activists stressed that the Kurds should unite against the Turkish state's invasion of Bashur and Rojava.
