Kurdish organizations call for participation in the march to be held in Basel on Saturday

The Kurdish organizations CDK-S and YJK-S in Switzerland called for participation in the march to be held in Basel De Wette Park on Saturday, 17 December, demanding the freedom of the Kurdish people's leader, Abdullah Öcalan.

A central march will be held in Basel, on Saturday, 17 December, promoted by European Kurdish youth organizations, Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger (TCŞ) and Jinên Ciwan ên Têkoşer (TekoJIN), demanding the end of the absolute isolation on Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and ensuring his freedom.

The action will begin at 2pm in the De Wette Park area in Basel. “We do not accept the isolation imposed on Rêber Apo.

The Swiss Democratic Kurdish Council (CDK-S) and the Swiss Kurdish Women's Union (YJK-S) called for participation in the march.

The statement said: “The Kurds living in four parts of Kurdistan and Europe these days, when we witness the tremendous resistance of our leadership, take their place in the resistance process on the streets.

Our Leadership and the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrillas, which resisted unprecedented genocide attacks in history, showed the whole world that in the fiftieth year of our relentless struggle, there is no choice but freedom and resistance.”

The statement continued: “The oppressed peoples, workers, women and young people all over the world are knitting the dynamics of the new life. We repeat ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadî’. We call on all our patriots and friends to attend the action to break the isolation in Imrali and demand freedom of our Leader."
