Kurdish PEN Centre holds congress, elects new co-chairs

The Kurdish PEN Centre held its 11th congress in Oldenburg, Germany and elected its new co-chairs.
More than 70 members of the Kurdish Pen attended the congress held under the motto “Our language is our existence!”.
The activities of the Kurdish PEN Centre and the Kurdish enlightenment were discussed at the congress.
Many Kurdish institutions and organizations and other PEN centres from all over the world sent messages of celebration and support for the congress.
After the discussions concerning methodology, a management committee consisting of 9 permanent and 6 substitute members was elected.
On the other hand, honorary leaders of the Kurdish PEN Centre, Dr. Berivan Doski and Dr. Zerdeşt Haco, were awarded for their contribution to the Kurdish PEN Centre.
On the same day, the new management committee held its first meeting with the participation of the members of the council committee, Berivan Doski, Abdullah Hijab and Kemal Sido.
While the council committee members shared the tasks, Ömer Fidan and Anisa Cahferimehr were designated as the new co-chairs of the Kurdish PEN Centre.
