Kurdish politician Selim Sadak detained in Amed

The AKP regime’s political genocide operations against the Kurdish people and politicians continue increasingly.

Kurdish politician Selim Sadak, a former deputy of the Democracy Party (DEP) went to Diyarbakır Courthouse on Monday in connection with an arrest warrant issued against him as part of the repression campaign launched by the government with the seizure of HDP-run municipalities in Amed (Diyarbakır), Mardin and Van on August 19.

As more than 400 people were taken into custody in 29 cities, DEP former MP Selim Sadak also had his flat in Amed raided by the police. Sadak was in Adıyaman city when the operation was carried out.

Upon his return to Amed, Sadak went to the courthouse today to give a statement. Detained by the police here, the Kurdish politician was taken to the anti-terror branch of security directorate.
