Kurdish students attacked at Dicle University

Tension continues at the campus of Dicle University in Diyarbakır where a group, reportedly involving pro-Hezbollah people who aren't studying at the university, attacked a group of Kurdish patriotic and left-wing students on Monday.

Hundreds of students have gathered in the campus area today to protest against yesterday's attack. The protest demo which was also joined by members of Eğitim-Sen union was attacked by police with tear gas as students started to march to the Congress Hall to hold a press conference. Police said they would not allow demonstrators to make a statement or to march in the campus area.

Tear gas was thrown on students with police helicopters as well.

Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chair Aysel Tuğluk has also arrived in the campus area for solidarity with students.
