European Kurdish Women's Movement (Tevgera Jinên Kurd li Ewropa-TIJKE) strongly responded to the smear campaign that has been launched against the Kurdish freedom movement in relation to the execution of three Kurdish women in Paris on 9 January. TIJKE pointed out that the aim of this campaign was to conceal the killings and the dark powers standing behind them.
TIJKE evaluated the assasination of Sakine Cansýz, Fidan Doðan and Leyla Þaylemez as a vicious attack on Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan, all resisting women and all peoples for women's liberation.
TIJKE condemned the killings and underlined that; "Our comrades Sakine Cansýz, Fidan Doðan and Leyla Þaylemez have become immortal as the leading revolutionaries of our Kurdistan freedom struggle as well as of our women's and youth movements".
Calling attention to the statements and comments of Turkish authorities and the Turkish media about Paris killings, TIJKE said that; "Turkish authorities, the Prime Minister and other government officials have been running a smear campaging against the Kurdish movement since the killings were first reported. Yet before the disclosure of any details about the murders, it has been said the executions were the result of a PKK internal feud. It was said that "Cansýz was killed for financial issues" or "Cansýz was in disagreement with Öcalan". The aim of these comments and headlines is obviously to cover up this brutal execution, not to shed light on it".
